Quick Start Guide

The Live Display is a full-screen live view that shows incoming tips, top tippers, and announcements. It works on any device with a browser — a TV, projector, tablet, laptop, or even a phone. It doesn't need to be connected to your DJ computer. Just open the Live Display link on whatever screen you want to use and go full-screen.

For the best experience on iPad, use Safari's "Add to Home Screen" feature: 1. Open Safari and navigate to your live page (hotlane.app/yourname/live) 2. Tap the Share button (square with arrow) 3. Tap "Add to Home Screen" 4. Tap Add Opening it from the home screen icon launches it in standalone mode with no browser chrome. For a completely clean display with no status bar, enable Guided Access: 1. Go to Settings > Accessibility > Guided Access 2. Turn it on and set a passcode 3. Open your live page from the home screen 4. Triple-click the side button to start Guided Access 5. Triple-click again and enter your passcode to exit

When viewing the Live Display, click the expand icon in the top-right corner of the page. This uses the browser's fullscreen mode to remove all browser chrome. The mouse cursor hides automatically after a few seconds of inactivity and reappears when you move it — perfect for a clean display on a monitor or projector.

This is usually a two-step permission issue: 1. Make sure notifications are enabled in your Hotlane dashboard (the button in the top-right should say "Notifications On") 2. Allow your browser to send notifications in your computer's system settings — this is the step most people miss On Mac: Go to System Settings > Notifications, find your browser (e.g. Google Chrome), and make sure "Allow Notifications" is turned on. On Windows: Go to Settings > System > Notifications, find your browser, and make sure it's enabled. Also check that Do Not Disturb / Focus mode is turned off.

Hotlane automatically remembers your notification preference as long as the browser permission stays granted. If you refresh the page, notifications should stay on. If the button shows "Notifications Off" after a refresh, click it to re-enable — no browser prompt needed since you already granted permission.

Currently, Hotlane supports desktop browser notifications. For mobile alerts, you'll receive email notifications for each tip at the email address associated with your account.

Your QR code is automatically generated when you create your profile. You can find it on your settings page. Print it out and display it at your venue so fans can scan and tip instantly.

Yes! From your settings page you can set custom tip amounts, set minimum tip thresholds for messages and song requests, toggle song requests on or off entirely, and enable Vinyl Mode to let tippers know you may have a limited selection.

Absolutely! Hotlane has a dedicated wedding theme with presets for grand entrances, first dances, toasts, cake cutting, and more. Switch to the wedding theme in your settings.
